چکیده

A system architecture for continuous mobility of Internetconnected computers is designed and proposed. The architecture considers network transparency, geographical location transparency, and performance transparency, with strong support for mapping between an identi er space of the Internet and geographical location information. The architecture is de ned by 1) identi er space support functions, 2) continuous Internet connectivity functions, and 3) performance transparency functions. Two experimental systems are implemented based on the architecture and are tested. The systems achieve continuous mobility in practical environments for automobiles connecting to the Internet, and in classrooms with about 40 roaming students.

Network Mobility in satellite networks: architecture and the protocol

Mobility management is required to ensure the session continuity for multiple IP-enabled devices onboard a satellite that hands off between ground stations. Network Mobility (NEMO) can efficiently manage the mobility of multiple IP-enabled devices that are connected as a mobile network. However, existing mobility management solutions for satellite networks are unable to route through intermedia...

Management of Multiple Mobile Routers for Continuous Multimedia in Mobile WLANs

Network mobility architecture was designed with mobile routers enabling continuous connection to the Internet. This paper proposes the mobile WLAN architecture that provides wide bandwidth for the users in the moving hot spot while the whole WLAN changes its point of attachment to the Internet. To serve mobile WLANs with continuous wideband, this paper focuses on the multiple mobile routers and...

WiFi Overcast: Enabling True Mobility for Realtime Applications in the Enterprise

Enterprises are increasingly deploying Wireless LANs to provide mobile access to users in corporate offices. However, existing enterprise WLANs are far from being truly mobile. In particular, they do not adequately support continuous mobility, where users access the network on-the-go. Furthermore, WLANs that do provide continuous mobility support require client modifications, making them hard t...
